You go to the gate of the inner bailey asking for an interview with Sir Pelandres. The Captain of the Guard, a jovial and friendly man, explains to you that passage through the inner gatehouse is reserved to the residents or by special invitation from the Castellan or from one of his assistants. He sends one of his men to relay your message to Sir Pelandres. Half an hour later, the guard comes back with a reply. Like he told you yesterday, Sir Pelandres won't go back adventuring before he is back to full health. Judging from his wounds this should roughly take him a week. It is around 9:30 AM. The day is young. What do you plan to do next?((Some obvious choices - Wait for Sir Pelandres. You'll have to pay your lodging fees for the time he is recuperating.
- Go adventure on your own. At this point, I think your only remaining lead is the Caves and the missing merchant.
- Follow Rattlehead's suggestion and depart from the Keep.
And of course anything else of your own devise.))

I vote for departing. Can we know what's available at the smithy, or do I have to post in-game that I'm going there? Can I ask for a special request to the smithy?

There are 2 swords, 1 mace, a suit of man-sized chain mail, and 11 finished spears at the smithy's shop. For other imported goods from the standard equipment list, go see the Trader and the Provisioner.
Yes the smithy can do special request depending on what they are.

Rattlehead
Hi blacksmith, my name's Rattlehead, I've seen your stuff and I need something better than a pitchfork meant for a half-rotten peasant. I've got the money, I've got the looks and I'm about to travel to a dangerous quest. I need you to work on an armor and a dagger, something shiny, something light and most of all something Deadly! You've got 1 week and tell me if you are the man and how much is it?
