The adventurers, with mother and son in tow make it back to the Keep before dusk. Past the gatehouse, they give their charges to the custody of the guards and make their way to the Happy Troll Tavern for a refreshing tankard of ale.
((Remove 1/3 ration for your lunch today. You still have to supper to go, so you can eat at the tavern or take another 1/3 ration.))

VarickI'll pay the first round of ale! We could always go back to the mad hermit's place with more equipment. We saw some coins on the other side of the cave. And now that I think of it, the key ring we found had 3 keys on it, we only used one? I guess the other keys were for the shackles? I'm just trying to list some options. But I still think that that place is a waste of time, you are probably right, we should go to the caves of chaos.(( DM, can you re-post the prices? Varick is paying the first round of ale, but I need to know who in the the gang wants to join in. )) Varick goes to the bar tender and tells him about the mad hermit. He asks him if he knows anyone that could help the mother and son. Maybe she could work here until she can save up a bit of coin? Still talking to the bar tender, So, would you know of another druid in the area? A real one this time ... We are thinking of exploring those case to the north-east of here to get some treasure, any advice.

((You guessed right. I forgot to mention it but the other keys were used for the cages and presumably, the shackles.))
The tavernkeep listens to your tale and answers"Well there might be a place for that mother and son you were talking about. If they're willing to work hard, they can quickly earn enough to continue on their travels." After hearing your next question "I never said that that fellow in the forest was a druid. Just that he might be since he lived alone in the woods. I know of no one else that might fit that description, but I've also never met one in person. Well you're the adventurers, I'm sure you'll stumble on one, one day or another." he says with a smile. "The Caves of Chaos are dangerous that's for sure. There are many humanoid monster tribes that inhabit the different caves and sometimes they descend upon the caravans on the road east. You must have heard about the missing merchant from the last attack? I'm sure you'd be in good grace with the Guild and impress upon the guards and the Castellan if you could rescue him."

Lombdas
Hey, we're still alive! ...and POOR! He then slams his wooden tankard on the table. The noise resonates through the tavern and startles the people around. Lombdas gazes at them and produces a noise with his mouth that ressembles more to a fart than the belching sound he wanted to produce. Realizing that it didn't do the effect he wanted, he turns to Coylian and calmly says: I told you I couldn't get drunk. I can't even fake it. Let's see what Varick is getting from the bar tender.

((By the gods, a belching farting elf. Your forefathers would turn in their graves. But they probably can't since your forefathers are probably still alive and have no grave since elves live over a thousand years old. ))

Coylian
As I'm finishing my beer and ordering another one. There is suppose to be magic armors stashed in the caves and the caravans that get robbed along the roads usually carry great riches

Vairck
Let's finish our round here, and then have a talk with the Guild to get more information. Maybe there is a reward for the merchant.
(( so far, Coylian, Lombdas, Wergrim, and Varick had ale, so the first round cost 20sp )) (( as for the pot, let's ask Wergrim and the others if we can split the loot 6-ways, one share for each, and one for the pot? ))

Wergrim wants to keep his share for himself. He'll deal with his own expenses.
