Arom
Coylian, my good friend. I do hope that Typhon protected you well and guided your sword.
Anyone got hurt?
I don't understand why this outcast brought us to his hideout? He could have led us to the middle of nowhere and vanish after that!!!

Wegrim answers Lombdas "I'm just not sure about this place. There may be more than a crazy old man and his pets living in this twisted oak."
You don't find nothing of interest searching the hermit's remain except that he wore a leather armour underneath his "priest of nature" tunic. You get an odd feeling of menace coming from the oak's dark entrance behind the bushes.
What do you do?

Varick
Varick tries to see if there is an opening near the top of the shelter (some sort of chimney). If he sees one, he signals to his friends and climbs as silently as possible to peer inside. If not, he follows the others towards the entrance.
(( he checks for traps in either location ))

Having quickly disposed of the mad hermit and his familiars, the adventurers cautiously approach the gigantic twisted oak that served, supposedly, as the hermit's decrepit home.
Varick the thief looks around the tree but does not find any kind of chimney or passage that would allow him to look inside without going through the entrance.
Coylian pushes through the bushes hiding the entrance to the hollow chamber inside the oak. Lighting a torch to illuminate the pitch black room, he sees the large (maybe 20' x 25') chamber where the hermit used to live. Inside, he can see a wooden table with a stained wooden cup and plate on it, a chair, a wooden cask and a bed of loose dirt and leaves. The air is heavy with the smell of rot and humidity. The atmosphere feels oppressive, though you can't point out why just by looking at the scene.
You are not inside the hollow chamber, you're just peeking in from outside. Do you want to go in?

I don't like this... Coylian, don't go in just yet... Something tells me that we should leave this part of the wood but at the same time I would hate to be followed and back-stabbed because we didn't finish the work.
What about if we throw a flask of oil on the doorway and put fire to it, whatever beasts could want to come out, we could shoot it with an arrow?

Coylian
It could risk setting the tree on fire, and I want to see what's in that cask. I don't think there's nothing in there. I'll go in.

Varick
Coylian, let me check to see if there is some kind of trap before you go in.

Varick checks the entrance for traps; blowing on the ground to detect an hidden trigger plate, inspecting the passage for a trip wire, etc... but doesn't find anything.
Assured by his companion that the entrance his safe, Coylian enters the tree, torch and sword in hand. He approaches the wooden cask and sees that it slowly drips red wine. There is nothing more apparent in the room than what you saw from outside.
Mechanics: Varick checks for traps 88 (Fail)
