Arom
I'm sorry kid but we were unable to find your father. We tried but we reached a point where we were stuck and it was getting too dangerous for us. If we were 100 feet tall, we could have jumped over huge crevasses but we are not.

The kid's eyes fill up with tears, he can barely keep himself from crying out loud. For a moment, you have the strange impression that he might do something crazy and jump down the well and attempt to save his father on his own. But then, you see his features change to resignation as he starts to comprehend that if brave heroes couldn't save his father, than there's no way he could.
Coylian and Varick quickly follow and climb back up to the torture chamber. After grabbing their equipment, the adventurers head out of the oak, escorting the kid and his mom to safety. Once out, they take a look back at the sinister tree; careful not to think too much about the horrors that have been perpetuated within.
Glad to be alive but saddened that they couldn't save the kid's father, they head back for the Keep.
