The trip back to the town of Brem is thankfully uneventful. You get back just before dusk as the shops are closing down. You can press the merchant for some supply and head back right away to Akban but the trip back will be during the night. Or you can spend the night at the inn (with a possible evening at the tavern) and travel back in daylight tomorrow. The inn will charge 15 sp per night per person (room sharing or not) and includes both the supper and the breakfast. Add an additional 5 sp if you have a mount. Common adventuring items are available from the merchants at list price (torches are cheap but use common sense when buying some, it's not that easy to carry more than 3 or 4). A pint of cheap generic brew at the tavern costs 5 cp and one of Riddard's Gold is 5 sp. Today, everyone has used up one meal from their rations (on third of a daily ration) (two if you go back to the dungeon at night), plus whatever torches you used up in the dungeon. Declare what you will do here and pay the appropriate amount from your funds by yourselves. ((Refer to the "Monsters & Treasure" thread ( nohirelings.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=19) to find out what you gained from the previous chapter.))

(( I added the gold to my total, subtracted 15sp for one night, 10cp for two pints of ale. Also noted -0.33 beside my rations. ))
Hilgrim, that mule of yours could help us carry the equipment we need, and help us bring back the loot. Then again, you could sell it to buy more goods or hire some helpers. What do you think?
(( I really think that a torch (or lantern) bearer could be useful. ))

Elddyn feels something vibrate. He takes his blackberry from his armor and inquires what's... above!?
"You know, same old. We just killed a giant spider... Oh yeah, a big one... Almost 5 feet. Yeah, I know. Yeah, we're gonna spend some of that money first, then I'll come to your party."
((HAPPY HALLOWEEN!))

((Anyone want anything else? Since it seems you spent the night everyone needs to deduce the appropriate lodging fees. I'll wait a bit more (especially for Graveshroud since he was the first who wanted to go back the town) and then we'll head back to Akban. But if you want to do something special in Brem rather then just sleep and shop that's also possible.))

((I've deducted the appropriate fees for one night, 2 torches and 3 day's dried rations.))

Graveshroud pays for the room at the inn, but refuses any drink before adventuring. When the shops are open be buys 2 more torches (1 to replace his burnt one and 1 more), 1 hooded lantern and 3 pints of oil.
Funds found were added to his total, then expenses were deducted from his total.
In his room, an hour is spent alone praying to Seth and a rat is sacrificed as described in the character sheet. He does not care about the mess it makes.
When he meets the group in the morning...
We could use some bait at Akban. It does not need to be anyone strong, just 3 or 4 want-to-be-heroes. They are cheap, but can help by holding torches, poles to poke and to be fodder if we encounter something.

Turghar takes Graveshroud aside.
I kind of agree with you but be a little more tactful when phrase it; Hilgrim is from this town and he may know some of these people.
(( Turghar is pretty low on funds, so he is ready to go in the morning. He is still wondering what Hilgrim will do with the mule. ))

Graveshroud looks at Turghar and smiles.
When the adventurers are all back together...
There is something important you all must know about where we are going to. As I usually do, I prayed to Seth before the night was done. In the middle of the night Seth came to me, he was a teal and black snake. He was sitting coiled over my legs, swaying his head and then he spoke in the serpent tongue; "In the lair of darkness lives a servitor of our enemy. Be warned."
For the first time with the group Graveshoud lets his nervousness show, ever so slightly, but the keen eyed observer notices. ((Dom, you roll for them to see who knows?))
This warning is not to be taken lightly. Seth does not appear to just anyone and when he does it is an extremely rare occasion.

Turghar, to tell you the truth, I'm kind of attached to this war mule because it reminds me of who gave me my first chance. Then again, we're pretty low on coins... Maybe I could sell it and we could then hire outsiders to join us? Hey, if we get rich and come back alive from Akban, I could buy the mule back!
With what Graveshroud just told us, the more the merrier...
((I added the treasure and then substracted 15 + 5 sp for me and Daisy - it's now morning. I bought a couple of rations and 1 torch))
