Varick finds the wandering priest of The Protector at the tavern still preaching to uninterested common folks. Once again they are relieved when they see Varick coming to talk to the priest and take that opportunity to discretely leave the tavern.
"Oh it is such a sad news that Findariel has passed away. And you say that he was so close to finding the home of his ancestors. May The Protector grants his soul eternal peace." He listens intently to the last part of your story about the magical caretaker of the grove who was corrupted and caused the downfall of the elven tribe that lived there. "So you say that something is corrupting the waters of that basin and that if you could purify the water for long enough you could take it away?" He takes a long pause, reflecting on something. "I fear that I do not have that kind of power, only one of the mysterious druids would. I have not been in the region long enough to know if there is one living nearby. They are quite secretive and reclusive people but ask around, someone might know something."
He ends by putting his right hand on your shoulder and saying "I must ask a favour of you my son. If you do retrieve this thing that corrupts the waters of the fountain in the southern forest... Listen to your conscience and bring it to me; so I can destroy it."

Varick
What makes you think that you can destroy this thing? Anyways, we have to find a druid first. And we'll need more of those antidotes to get back to the fountain. Do you have anymore, one of my co-adventures is still afflicted by the poisonous fog.

"Oh sorry, I was so enraptured by your tale that I forgot that you asked me about more antidote. Like I told you yesterday, this was given to me during my pilgrimage. I do not have more or know how to fabricate it."
He takes a more somber tone and adds "In my Order we have rituals to destroy objects of Chaos. I'm just worried that if something could corrupt a whole elven grove; that it could corrupt you also."

Arom goes to see the banker and receives 81 gold for his gem. At the same time, Varick leaves the shield they found on the elf's body to the Keep's blacksmith to get it inspected, cleaned and oiled.

With Coylian resting comfortably in his private apartment, the rest of the adventurers go to the tavern to take a hearty meal and drink some cold ale in memory of their companion Graveshroud. Once they are seated, they look once more at the menu on the big blackboard behind the bar's counter. ALE 5sp SMALL BEER 1sp WINE 5sp HONEY MEAD 1gp BARK TEA 1sp BREAD 1cp/slice PUDDING 1sp/bowl SOUP 1sp STEW 5sp ROAST FOWL 1gp ROAST JOINT 2gp HOT PIE 5sp CHEESE 1sp/wedge FRUIT 1sp While they are thinking about what they'll order, Arom notices that a man in one of the dark corners of the room is discretely looking at them.

Varick
Where do we go next? All we found was a tarnished shield. I hope we can get some coin for it once it's all shiny again. We need to find some serious bounty this time. We will need to find another adventurer to replace our poor Graveshroud. And maybe we should consider hiring a man-at-arms as well.

Xorag Deathshade
Sitting quietly in his dark corner, watching the group discretely, Xorag's attention is pointed at Varick as he hears the name Graveshroud. He then stares at Varick and waits to hear the next words that will leave his lips.

Arom
As Varick mentions the name of our lost brother, I see that the stranger has a reaction.
I get up and, with both my hands in the air as to say that he doesn't have to fear me, I approach the stranger and tell him: Hey Stranger, did you know the Cleric Graveshroud?
