It is not specifically mentioned in Labyrinth Lord's rules (or B/X D&D for that matter) whether someone who won initiative can hold it (like I suppose Graveshroud wanted to do) until the other side has acted. Since it is not mentioned and everything in combat is happening pretty fast I ruled that you simply wait out your round. However, if everybody thinks it's the other way around we could add it to the list of house rules.
What do you think?

Since my action was a ready action it should happen any time in the round. whether it was before or after my turn in the round because that is how a ready action works.
If the spider did not approach I would not act in this round. If it approached in this round or at the beginning of the next round then my ready action would happen after it moved close enough to us and possibly prevent the spider's next action, just like in D&D.

I understand what you mean but there is no notion of ready actions in LL or B/X D&D. IIRC, it appeared in 3.0 but I would have to check my AD&D 2e books to be sure they weren't there before.
That said, if everyone wants them in, we can house rule them into LL.

Man this is brutal, I really liked Mr. Shroud. as for the ready action rule, it's sounds like a good rule.
Quick question when somebody is in melee is it 50/50 to see if I hit him or is it based on dex?

I vote for simplicity, this is why I choose to play old-school and why I no longer play 3.5. This is how I see it: If you don't want to act right away, wait for the next round while defending yourself. The DM can improvise your actions based on what you said and/or based on your standing orders (if anything happens while you are defending yourself).

When shooting at a target engaged in melee the chance of hitting each target is most of the time divided equally (1 player 1 monster = 50/50, 2 player 1 monster = 33/33/33). But there are some cases where some of the participants in the melee are either really big or really small where those % might change.
